After the tough conditions in Madrid , players will eagerly be looking forward to playing in Rome.
After early exits in Madrid , both Djokovic and Nadal will be wanting to make amends and more importantly , prove a point in Rome.
1st Quarter:
It looked to me that Djokovic was really wanting a victory in Madrid, but the condition there didn't really allow him to play his defensive-cum offensive style of tennis. He's likely to face off against Bernard Tomic in his opener which could prove to be tricky , but clay isn't Berny's favourite surface and the Serb should prevail in straights. In the 3rd round he could come up against either Juan Ignacio Chela or Juan Monaco(who has just recovered for his injury) so Djokovic shouldn't be troubled too much by either of the two. In the same quarter we have Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Juan Martin Del potro. Based on recent form , I believe that Delpo will make the quarter more so because he has had Tsonga's number off late.

The pick: Djokovic ( Del potro seems to be a little weak mentally especially against the top guys)
2nd Quarter:
After playing so well in Madird , Federer will be high in confidence and he has no potential threat until the semis. He is likely to open up against Carlos Berlocq , followed by Gael Monfils and Janko Tipsarevic. Tipsarevic is more likely to open up against Wawrinka and then may face Isner in the 3rd round but i expect Janko to come through. None of them can actually 'trouble' Federer especially on a clay court , so making the semis seems inevitable.

3rd Quarter:
Murray , surely has the toughest draw of the lot as he is likely to start off things against David Nalbandian. Its going to be a tough match , no doubt about that , but its going to be hard for me to pick Nalby. Murray's 3rd round opponent could be Gasquet , who has troubled Murray in the past , and even if he manages to get past Gasquet , he's likely to have a quarterfinal showdown against David Ferrer. In Ferrer's section we have Verdasco/Dolgopolov and Simon/Andujar in the 2nd and 3rd rounds respectively.

The pick: Ferrer (Murray hasn't been able to beat Ferrer on clay in 3 different occasions and Ferrer is surely going to be the favourite if he is to face Murray in the Quarters)
4th Quarter:
We're down to our last quarter and early on, we can expect a fantastic match in Nadal vs Raonic.
Tough one for Nadal, but Nadal feels at home on clay and I'll have to go with him to win it in 2 tough sets.
Nadal's quarter final opponent could be the man whose being playing some good ball off late, Tomas Berdych. But the problem for Berdych is as well as he plays , he just can't seems to beat Nadal.

Although Nadal trounced Djokovic in Monte Carlo , it's surely not going to be the same story this time around. I expect Djokovic to play his best tennis here in Rome and prevail in the final.
